Statistics from the Representative Office of the Banking Association in Ho Chi Minh City show that in 3 weeks (from July 29 to August 16), 15/36 banks adjusted their savings interest rates up, and 4 banks adjusted their interest rates down.
Accordingly, DongABank is the bank that has increased its savings interest rates the most, with an increase of 0.9% for the 12-month term, thereby bringing the savings interest rate of this term to 5.45%. This is also the highest mobilization interest rate at DongABank.
In addition to the above term, DongABank also adjusted an increase of 0.5% for terms from 1 to 9 months, thereby bringing the interest rates of these terms to fluctuate between 3.3%/year - 4.85%/year.
During the surveyed period, Sacombank also adjusted the 1-month term up by 0.5% to 2.8%/year; the 3-9 month term increased by 0.4% to 2.8%/year - 4.3%/year. Currently, the highest mobilization interest rate at Sacombank is 5.7% for a term of 24-36 months for online savings deposit products.
CBBank adjusted the increase by 0.4% for terms from 1-12 months, thereby bringing the mobilization interest rate for these terms to fluctuate from 3.7%/year - 5.55%/year. According to the new interest rate table, the highest savings interest rate at this bank is 5.85%/year for online savings deposits with terms from 24-36 months.
The remaining banks adjusted their deposit interest rates slightly up from 0.1 - 0.3%, for terms from 1 - 60 months, for both counter deposits and online deposits.
Some banks slightly reduced interest rates (from 0.05 - 0.25%) for both counter deposits and online deposits, including: Techcombank, OCB, SeABank, ABBank.
Statistics show that with deposits under 200 billion VND, the highest deposit interest rate in the system is 6.1%/year, applied to customers making online deposits with terms from 24-36 months. There are 4 banks listing this interest rate, including: Saigonbank, SHB, NCB, Oceanbank.
For a 9-month term, the highest deposit interest rate is 5.55%/year. NCB is the only bank applying this interest rate to customers making online deposits.
For a 6-month term, the highest interest rate is 5.55%/year. CB is the only bank that applies this interest rate to customers who save online.
